Get Involved - Volunteer

Your skills and experience can have a dramatic impact on another’s life.

No matter which part of the state you live in, the New Hampshire Association for the Blind offers meaningful ways for you to help us with clients in your community or one nearby. Some tasks will be done at the McGreal Sight Center in Concord.

If you’re looking for gratifying volunteer work that fits your lifestyle – look no further. Many of the opportunities listed below offer a great amount of flexibility based on your schedule. Orientation is provided.

Volunteers are matched one-to-one with a client in their community to provide in-home practical support with tasks such as reading, letter writing, organizing paperwork, companionship, and walks.

  1. Community Drivers
    Drive your own vehicle and accompany a client to appointments, shopping, errands and recreational activities.
  2. Program Support Drivers
    Provide transportation to clients attending support, educational and training programs that help promote independent living.

Provide assistance with events such as the Blind Awareness Walk-A-Thon, concert and other Association sponsored events.

Provide administrative support to Association staff. Projects may include data entry, typing materials to be brailled, telephone calls and internet research.
